August 16, 2012 -- Ferdinand, IN – Seufert Construction, a design/build contractor based in Ferdinand, IN, has received the 2012 Award of Excellence in Construction for Pre-Engineered Buildings from the Associated Builders and Contractors, Indiana Chapter, for the Tri-County YMCA project.  The award will be presented to representatives from Seufert Construction and the Tri-County YMCA at the 2012 Merit Shop Awards Gala on September 25 in Indianapolis.

"We are very honored to receive this award for the construction of the YMCA," said Scott Tretter, Vice President of Seufert Construction and Project Manager on the project.  "We were extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with the citizens and businesses in our community to bring the Tri-County YMCA to fruition.  This project encompassed much more than a typical design/build engagement, serving a greater purpose of community well-being and enhanced quality of life."

Said Pat Miller, Chief Volunteer Officer of the YMCA, “Seufert Construction was faced with the challenge of creating a valuable public asset in a small community.  Completely funded by private donations, we sought to incorporate environmentally conscious features into the project while staying within our budget.  As our lead building partner, Seufert Construction epitomized the creativity and spirit of cooperation necessary to bring this dream to a reality.”

The Award of Excellence in Construction honors all members of the team responsible for the award-winning project including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, owners and architects. Recipients excel in innovation, quality, safety, and communication.  The award, given annually, is based on constructability, overall impact of the project, safety and partnerships with ABC subcontractors.
